MUSCAT, Sept. 4 (Xinhua) -- Labor and social affairs and development ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) on Wednesday agreed on the recruitment of labor from non-GCC countries and empowering the differently abled groups.

The fifth meeting of the GCC social affairs ministers, hosted in the Omani capital Muscat, discusses a host of issues of common concern, the official Oman News Agency quoted a statement by the Omani Manpower Ministry.

The ministers also approved decisions to boost the private sector as well as the council's participation in Expo Dubai 2020 and pan-Arab cooperation in international forums.

The meeting also touched on an inter-GCC draft code of ethics for family counseling professionals and endorsed the council's social development strategy. Enditem
