TOKYO -- One man has been confirmed dead and 33 people were injured after a train collided with a truck in Yokohama, south of Tokyo, on Thursday noon, causing sections of the train to derail.

According to rescue officials, the accident occurred around 11:40 a.m. as the train, possibly traveling at 120 kms per hour, hit the truck at a crossing on the Keikyu Line between Kanagawa-Shimmachi and Nakakido stations in Yokohama. (Japan-Train collision)

KABUL -- Over a dozen people were killed and injured as a car bomb rocked Shash Darak area in the Police District 9 in Kabul city on Thursday, a police source said.

The blast took place at 10:10 a.m. local time, said the source who declined to be identified. He also added that the blast happened next to a police checkpoint where the office of National Directorate of Security, the U.S. embassy and the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission located. SEOUL -- South Korean Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon on Thursday called for an early resumption of working-level talks between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States to settle lasting peace on the Korean Peninsula.
