COPENHAGEN, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Danish Minister for Food, Fisheries and Equal Opportunities Mogens Jensen traveled to China on Sunday to promote "healthy, safe and quality food products from Denmark", said a press release from the environment and food ministry.

The minister wishes to strengthen Sino-Danish cooperation on food safety, said the press release, adding that China is a beneficial market for Danish food.

Denmark and China already have close ties and share many cooperation agreements on food and within the veterinary field.

In the past, Danish officials have visited China to talk about Denmark's food controls, and how they ensure that food safety and food quality in Denmark remain high.

During the trip, the minister will also meet with Danish companies that have operations in China, such as Arla, Danish Crown, and Danfoss. Enditem
