MADRID, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Spanish shares edged up 0.23 percent on Monday with the benchmark index Ibex-35 opening at 8,990.10 points and closed on 9,010.60 points to recover the 9,000 point mark it had lost in August.
Shares in 21 of the 35 companies on the Ibex-35 went up in the day.
The Banco Sabadell savings bank had the day's best results as share soared 4.36 percent, followed by the Melia Hotels International group, with a 3.48-percent increase. Caixabank went up 3.28 percent.
The worst performer was telecommunications companies Cellnex Telecom., with share prices dropping by 3.72 percent.
Shares in healthcare provider Grifols Clase A, went down by 2.18 percent, while share values in energy provider Iberdrola fell by 2.10 percent. Enditem
