RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- The governments of Brazil and Paraguay announced on Monday the beginning of negotiations for a bilateral agreement in the automotive sector.
The announcement was made in Brazil's capital city of Brasilia after a meeting between Brazilian Foreign Minister Ernesto Araujo and his Paraguayan counterpart Antonio Rivas.
Brazil has beefed up investment in the automotive sector and recently signed an agreement with Argentina to establish free trade in the automotive sector by 2029.
According to the Brazilian minister, Brazil and Paraguay have converging policies and vision and can adopt a strategic policy to benefit both countries.
"We are in a moment to put into practice a strategic policy for Brazil and Paraguay," Araujo said.
Brazil and Paraguay have agreed to build three new bridges along the border to increase connectivity and help fight against crimes. Enditem
