BUDAPEST, Sept. 12 (Xinhua) -- In July 2019, the volume of industrial output grew by 12 percent year-on-year, a 28-month record, according to a report published here on Thursday by the Hungarian central statistical office (KSH).

Based on working-day adjusted data, production rose by 8.7 percent, KSH added, noting that July saw a 28-month record in industrial production growth.

"Industrial output -- according to the seasonally and working-day adjusted index -- was above the previous month's level by 1.7 percent," KSH said.

"Hungary has undergone industrial restructuring in the last eight years, as part of which it has been able to attract high-tech companies operating in the high-tech industry, the dynamic growth of Hungarian industry is due to the performance of these companies," the Ministry for Innovation and Technology's State Secretary for Economic Strategy and Regulation Laszlo Gyorgy told local media after the release of the data.

For the period of January-July, industrial output increased 6.3 percent year-on-year, while the year-on-year output of Hungary's automotive sector, an engine of industrial growth, rose 34.6 percent in July, KSH said. Enditem
