NEW YORK, Sept. 13 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices declined on Friday despite dropping U.S. rig count.
In the week ending Sept. 13, the number of U.S. active oil rigs dropped by five to 733, U.S. energy services firm Baker Hughes said in its weekly report on Friday.
The reading was also 134 lower than the 867 of the same period last year.
The West Texas Intermediate (WTI) for October delivery decreased 0.24 U.S. dollar to settle at 54.85 dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, and Brent crude for November delivery declined 0.16 dollar to close at 60.22 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange. Enditem
