DAMASCUS, Sept. 15 (Xinhua) -- At least 11 people were killed Sunday when an explosive-laden truck went off in a rebel-held town in the countryside of Aleppo province in northern Syria, a war monitor and state news agency SANA reported.

The truck exploded in the town of al-Rai in the northeastern countryside of Aleppo, said SANA. It said that the bombing took place near a hospital, which led to partially destroying the building.

The bombing also left big damage in houses and properties in the area, said SANA, adding that the death toll could likely rise due to the number of critically wounded people.

Meanwhile, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights war monitor said that 11 civilians were killed in the bombing that took place in the town, which is controlled by Turkish forces and Turkey-backed rebels.

The Britain-based watchdog group said seven other people were wounded in the bombing and the perpetrators are yet to be known. Enditem
