KABUL -- War-torn Afghanistan is preparing for the upcoming presidential election slated for Sept. 28 amid Taliban threats and persisting challenges.

SEOUL -- South Korean President Moon Jae-in said Monday that his country will do all it can for the denuclearization talks between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) and the United States.

SEOUL -- South Korea's import of Japanese beer tumbled in recent months on the campaign here to boycott Japanese products, caused by a trade spat between the two countries, Yonhap news agency said Monday citing customs office data.

In terms of value, import of Japanese beer plunged to 223,000 U.S. dollars in August from 7,566,000 dollars a year earlier. The Japanese beer import was tallied at 4,342,000 dollars in July. (S.Korea-Japan-Boycott)

ISLAMABAD -- Several workers were trapped in a tire production factory after it caught fire on Monday in Pakistan's southern port city of Karachi, police and rescuers said.

Local police told the media that the fire broke out inside the factory and later it spread to other areas of the factory in Qaida Abad area of Karachi. (Pakistan-Factory-Fire) Enditem
