RIO DE JANEIRO, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- Ten people were injured in a plane crash in the Brazilian Amazon rainforest region, local authorities said on Monday.

The single-engine Cessna crashed in a forest area with difficult access shortly after taking off from Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state in northern Brazil.

Brazilian Air Force's helicopters carrying members from local fire department help locate the crashed plane and rescue the injured.

All people aboard the small plane were rescued alive and taken to nearby hospitals.

The passengers of the plane were reportedly Amazonas state workers.

After the crash, the Manaus airport was closed for over an hour and several flights had to be re-routed, according to airport infrastructure company Infraero. Enditem
