ISTANBUL, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- At least seven people, including two firefighters, were injured on Wednesday in a factory fire in Istanbul, the mayor said in a statement.
The firefighters were wounded when a big metal piece that detached itself from the factory building fell over a fire brigade truck, the statement said.
Five others were badly affected by the smoke and rushed to nearby hospital for treatment, noted the statement.
The fire erupted in a chemicals factory located inside the Orhanli organized industrial zone in the Tuzla district on the Asian side of Istanbul.
As strong wind continues in the area, the fire is now only partially put under control, the Haberturk daily reported online, saying explosions are happening from time to time. Enditem
