TIRANA, Sept. 18 (Xinhua) -- Albania and North Macedonia agreed to establish "one-stop shop" border crossing points to facilitate the movement of people and goods between the two countries and to reduce the time people have to spend at the border, the Albanian government said in a statement on Wednesday.

Albanian Finance and Economy Minister Anila Denaj met with visiting North Macedonia's economy minister Kreshnik Bekteshi. Denaj and Bekteshi praised the current level of economic cooperation and trade exchanges between their countries.

"The objective of today's meeting is to intensify cooperation between our two countries, to further enhance economic development, and at the same time to facilitate the free movement of people and goods," Denaj said.

Bekteshi said that the "one-stop shop" border crossing points will increase trade exchanges and facilitate the movement of citizens between the two countries.

He said that the government of North Macedonia is ready to approve the agreement on the start of negotiations at technical level to establish working groups and to sign the final agreements within two months. Enditem
