QALAT, Afghanistan -- The death toll of a car bomb on Thursday that rocked Qalat city, the capital of southern Afghanistan's Zabul province, has risen to 20, with over 93 others wounded, provincial government spokesman Gul Islam Sayal said.

"Twenty people lost their lives and 93 others wounded in the car bomb that hit a hospital in Qalat city today morning," Sayal told Xinhua. (Afghanistan-Car Bomb)

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. National Foreign Trade Council (NFTC) on Wednesday announced the formation of the Tariff Reform Coalition that will work with lawmakers to ensure greater congressional oversight and review of presidential use of tariff authority.

VIENNA -- Calling Europe one of its most important destinations of investment, Chinese telecom company Huawei is stepping up cooperation with the continent under the principle of "in Europe, with Europe, for Europe," a company executive said here Wednesday.

Huawei has already been operating 26 research and development (R&D) labs in 14 European countries, and "by the end of last year, we've already had 12,200 employees in Europe, including about 2,000 people working on R&D," Austin Zhang, director of Huawei's Central and Eastern Europe and Nordic Region Public Affairs and Communications Department, told Xinhua at a press conference. CAPE TOWN -- South African President Cyril Ramaphosa said on Wednesday that he has requested a fact-finding mission to identify the cause of the recent xenophobic violence in the country.
