LUSAKA, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Zambia's major media outlets on Thursday.
-- Zambia has revoke over 840 dormant mining and exploration licenses out of the 3,180 active ones.
Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary Barnaby Mulenga said the licenses were canceled from August this year to date. (Zambia Daily Mail)
-- Chinese telecommunication giant, Huawei Technologies, has pledged to actively invest in the digital transformation of Zambia and develop more abundant services on the basis of further strengthening construction of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) infrastructure. -- Zambia will spend 20.5 million U.S. dollars to import 300 megawatts of electricity from South Africa every month to cushion the country's current power deficit.
