CANBERRA -- The Australian Federal Police (AFP) confirmed it is investigating war crimes allegedly committed by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan.

The AFP on Friday confirmed that officers have travelled to Afghanistan as part of the investigation.

It marked the first time for Australian authorities to travel overseas to investigate alleged war crimes involving Australian soldiers. (Australia-Afghanistan-War crime)

HONG KONG -- The government of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) has clarified that the Sino-British Joint Declaration does not have any paragraph which sets out the implementation of "dual universal suffrage."

In response to an organization's claim on a social media platform that "the fact that dual universal suffrage has yet been implemented in Hong Kong is a serious violation of the Sino-British Joint Declaration," a spokesman for the HKSAR government made the clarification on Thursday. MUMBAI -- India's automobile major, Tata Motors, has launched state-of-the-art electric vehicle technology, Ziptron, to power a range of aspirational electric cars, a company statement said late Thursday.

The technology embodies distinctive characteristics including efficient high voltage system, zippy performance, long range, fast charging capability, battery with warranty of 8 years, and adherence to IP67 standard, the statement said. (India-Tata)

DHAKA -- Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Li Jiming visited camps of displaced people from Myanmar to Bangladesh in Cox's Bazar recently, during which he pledged continued efforts to mediate between the two sides and facilitate the repatriation of the displaced people.

During the trip from Sept. 15-17, Li went to camps in Teknaf and Ukhia Upzilas in Cox's Bazar, including the one on "zero line" along the Bangladesh-Myanmar border. He also visited the terrestrial and waterside transit centers built by the Bangladeshi government, and walked into houses of the displaced people to listen to their concerns and demands.
