COLOMBO -- Over 6,000 people in Sri Lanka have died from kidney diseases between 2016 to 2018, local media reports, quoting the government said here Friday.

Lands and Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Gayantha Karunathilaka, answering on behalf of Health Minister, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne in Parliament said that 6,481 deaths had been reported within last 3 years which includes 2,135 deaths in 2016, 2,159 deaths in 2017 and 2,187 deaths in 2018. SEOUL -- Director general-level diplomats from South Korea and Japan held talks in Tokyo Friday over wartime forced labor and the bilateral trade feud, according to Seoul's foreign ministry.

SYDNEY -- Australia opened its first ever 5-star facility to test the safety of new technologies in autonomous vehicles, according to New South Wales (NSW) State Regional Transport and Roads Minister Paul Toole on Friday.

He said the disused airport site in Cudal, 300 km west of Sydney, would be a game-changer for the advanced industry.

"No longer will organizations and manufacturers be forced to test new vehicle technologies overseas to receive a safety rating. They'll be able to do it right here in NSW," Toole said. (Australia-Autonomous Vehicle) Enditem
