Pilot killed as 2-seater plane crashes in Philippines

MANILA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- A two-seater plane crashed into a rice field in Pampanga province, north of the Philippine capital of Manila, on Friday, killing a British pilot.

Pampanga police said the incident happened at around 3:00 p.m. in La Paz, a village in Arayat town in Luzon island.

The pilot, Mark Hogget, 55, a resident of Tarlac City, died at the scene, police said.

Quoting witnesses, police said the plane was flying low before it crashed. The plane is a two-seater white quicksilver ultra-light with Body No. RPS2785 owned by a local flying club. Enditem
