DAR ES SALAAM, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- A Tanzanian government senior official said on Wednesday relevant authorities were reviewing the country's investment laws with a view of attracting more investors.
Angellah Kairuki, the Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office responsible for Investment, said recommendations for the amendment of the investment laws will be tabled in parliament in November this year.
Kairuki was speaking at a meeting that brought together businessmen and investors in the east African nation's southern region of Ruvuma.
She said the amendments will be designed to improve operations at the Tanzania Investment Center, the country's investment watchdog.
The official reiterated the government's appeal to leaders at district and regional levels to stop harassing investors and businessmen.
"I am asking businessmen and investors who faced unnecessary bureaucracy from the leaders to immediately report them to relevant authorities," said Kairuki. Enditem
