PODGORICA, Sept. 25 (Xinhua) -- An agreement on scientific cooperation between the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts (MASA) and the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) was signed here on Wednesday.

The document was signed by MASA President Dragan K. Vukcevic and CAS President Bai Chunli as one of the outcomes of their first working meeting.

The agreement calls for the two academies to enhance bilateral partnership through exchange of scholars, joint conferences and cooperative research projects in the fields of natural sciences and technology.

MASA also accepted the invitation of CAS to apply for the membership of the newly-established ANSO (the Alliance of International Science Organizations), which was initiated by CAS and 36 other national research institutions last November to promote global scientific and technological cooperation.
