LONDON, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Friday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.02 percent, or 75.13 points, to close at 7,426.21 points.
Persimmon, a British house-building company, soared 5.22 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Kingfisher and Smurfit Kappa Group increased by 3.62 percent and 3.55 percent, respectively.
Fresnillo, a Mexican-based precious metals mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.72 percent.
