KHARTOUM, Sept. 30 (Xinhua) -- Egyptian Ambassador in Khartoum Hossam Essa on Monday said that removing Sudan from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism constitutes a main goal for Egypt.

"Egypt is seeking, through contacts with international forces, to lift Sudan's name from the terrorism list to avoid any harm," Essa said when addressing a workshop in Khartoum on opportunities and challenges of achieving peace in Sudan.

He vowed that Egypt would help Sudan by all means to achieve peace, saying that "Egypt is ready to achieve the goals of the Sudanese revolution represented in freedom, peace and justice."

Essa further reiterated Egypt's readiness to provide humanitarian and developmental needs for the conflict zones in Sudan. Enditem
