KUWAIT CITY, Oct. 1 (Xinhua) -- Kuwait attaches great importance to protecting human rights in adherence to its constitution, Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah said Tuesday.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of a seminar themed "Kuwait's Efforts in Relieving the Elderly," Al-Jarallah said that Kuwait's keenness on human rights comes from its belief.

He pointed out that Kuwait contributed to supporting the elderly through various governmental bodies and spreading the awareness on the problems that faces the elderly.

Al-Jarallah stressed the importance of the seminar in highlighting the national efforts to raise the awareness on human rights, adding that the seminar coincides with the "International Day for Older Persons."

The efforts Kuwait has made in the field of human rights gives it a unique international place, not only because of its development in infrastructure but also in its connection with human development and capital focusing on certain aspects, the Kuwait News Agency said in a report Tuesday. Enditem
