JAKARTA, Oct. 2 (Xinhua) -- Indonesia's weightlifter Eko Yuli Irawan, a silver medalist at the Rio Olympic Games in 2016, was optimistic to claim the 61kg title during the forthcoming 2019 SEA Games in the Philippines.

The target was made after the Indonesian Olympic Committee discussed with the country's Weightlifting and Body Building Association, media reported on Wednesday.

For preparation, the Indonesian athlete said that he has undergone intensive exercises, practicing five days a week, since the beginning of this year. During the time, he had also conducted tryouts three times.

"For this year, the tryouts were in China in February, in Brunei Darussalam in February and recently during the World Championships in Thailand," the 31-year-old said.

The 30th biennial regional multi-sport event is scheduled to be held in the Philippines from November 30 to December 11. Enditem
