BEIJING, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) -- Leaders of foreign countries and international organizations have sent congratulatory messages to Chinese President Xi Jinping, conveying their best wishes on the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China (PRC).

The following is an edited summary of some of these messages.

Japan's Emperor Naruhito expressed his wholehearted congratulations on the occasion of the National Day of the PRC, and wished China prosperity.

Brunei's Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah said Brunei and China have enjoyed a long history of friendly exchanges, adding that he hopes that the two countries can further deepen their strategic cooperative partnership.

Myanmar President U Win Myint said that the existing friendly relations and close cooperation between Myanmar and China will continue to prosper within the frameworks of the China-Myanmar Economic Corridor and the Belt and Road Initiative cooperation.

Malaysia's Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah said that the PRC has constantly scored remarkable achievements in development. He hoped that Malaysia and China will continue to deepen their friendly relations.

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said that Afghanistan and China have always trusted and helped one another, and fostered a profound friendship. Afghanistan is firmly committed to developing friendly relations between the two countries.

King Mohammed VI of Morocco said that China has made brilliant achievements in various fields under Xi's wise leadership, and plays an important role in international and regional affairs. He added that Morocco is willing to promote greater development of bilateral relations.

Tanzanian President John Magufuli said that the African continent was able to be liberated from the shackles of colonialism with China's support. Tanzania-China relations have been based on mutual respect and common interests, and Tanzania is willing to further consolidate the sound relations between the two countries and the two peoples.

Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki said under Xi's leadership, China is marching forward more vigorously. This will certainly contribute to building a fairer and perfect global order, and further promote the international rule of law, justice and unity of peoples worldwide. Enditem
