Iran, Azerbaijan discuss boost of automotive cooperation

TEHRAN, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- Iran and Azerbaijan have called for expansion of cooperation in areas including the field of automotive industries, Eghtesadonline news website reported on Sunday.

In a recent meeting between Azerbaijan's ambassador to Iran, Bunyad Huseynov, and Chairman of Tabriz Chamber of Commerce, Younes Jaele, the Azeri side said "the Baku government is keen to strengthen trade ties with Iran in agriculture, food, machinery and particularly automotive industries," according to the report.

Huseynov said that the growth of trend in Azerbaijan's trade with Iran is a sign of interest in the peoples and officials of the two countries to expand relations.

The Azeri envoy highlighted the necessity of expanding collaborations in Khazar Car Company, which is an automotive joint venture between Iran Khodro and AzerMash OJSC. Enditem
