SINGAPORE, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Singapore stocks closed higher on Monday, with the benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) going up 0.69 percent, or 21.12 points, to close at 3,099.48.
A total of 582.11 million shares changed hands with a turnover of 705.51 million Singapore dollars (about 510.57 million U.S. dollars). Gainers outnumbered losers by 202 to 133.
The STI index went down 0.31 percent, or 9.61 points, to close at 3,078.36 last Friday. Enditem
