Indonesian star aims for title at 2019 International Karate Championship

JAKARTA, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Indonesian karate athlete Ni Kaded Renia Sophia Putri will aim to get a title in the forthcoming 2019 International Karate Championship in Belgium later this year.

The 2019 International Karate Championship is scheduled to be held from November 6 to 13 in Herstal, Belgium.

The young Indonesian athlete from the country's Bali province recently secured a gold medal in a karate tournament in the country.

On Monday, the athlete held an audience with deputy head of Beleleng district of Bali province I Nyoman Sutjidra, head of karate association for the district Ketut Putra Sedana and others.

"Hopefully Ni will reach achievement that we all expect, a gold medal, in the championship in Belgium," Nyoman was quoted by Antara news wire as saying.

For preparation, head of the association Ketut said, Ni will start undergoing a national training camp in the next two days.

The athletes will depart for Belgium on November 6, he said. Enditem
