TBILISI, Oct. 7 (Xinhua) -- Germany supports Georgia's integration into NATO and the European Union (EU), visiting German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said here on Monday.
During a press conference after his meeting with Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili, Steinmeier emphasized the friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, noting that Georgia can always count on German political support.
"Germany has always supported Georgia on the path and the country's Euro-Atlantic integration," Steinmeier said.
Meanwhile, Steinmeier said Georgia is becoming "increasingly popular" among German tourists, with German magazines frequently writing about Georgian regions like Svaneti and Kakheti.
Zurabishvili, for her part, reiterated the firm stance Georgia maintains to join the EU and NATO.
Steinmeier arrived in Tbilisi on Oct. 6 for a three-day visit to Georgia. Enditem
