GHAZNI, Afghanistan -- A total of 19 students had been confirmed wounded in a blast that rocked the Ghazni University in Ghazni provincial capital Ghazni on Tuesday, provincial government spokesman Aref Nuri said.

COLOMBO -- Sri Lanka's Elections Commission on Tuesday said it had banned public parades, posters, banners and cut-outs in support of the presidential candidates who are contesting next month's presidential polls while the police warned of strict legal action against the violators.

Police spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara said that as per the election laws, the displaying of election related posters, banners, cut outs, vehicle parades and public processions have been banned till the presidential polls take place on Nov. 16 and increased security will be appointed all over the island to nab the violators. HONG KONG -- Chief executive of China's Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) Carrie Lam said Tuesday that the "unprecedented violence" these days have sent Hong Kong into "a very dangerous situation," urging foreign politicians to stop supporting rioters by glamorizing them.

FARAH, Afghanistan -- At least four militants, including a Taliban leader, have been killed in an airstrike in Afghanistan's western Farah province, in a latest raid against the Taliban insurgents, their supply lines and the insurgent's mid-level command structure, local police said Tuesday.

"Acting on specific intelligence inputs, Afghan Air Force struck a vehicle carrying militants in Naal Dasht village of Khaki Safed district, Farah province roughly at 4:30 p.m. Monday, killing four militants," the provincial police said in a statement. (Afghanistan-Airstrike) Enditem
