BEIRUT, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese Tourism Minister Avedis Guidanian said on Tuesday that Lebanon's tourism sector will witness increased success after the United Arab Emirates (UAE) lifted its travel warning against the country.

"We will see more tourists from the UAE in the coming period in addition to more Emirati investments which will translate into higher tourism spending," Guidanian said after he attended the UAE-Lebanon Investment Conference, reported the National News Agency.

Guidanian said he noticed a serious stance from UAE officials to deepen tourism ties with Lebanon ahead of the Christmas and New Year occasions by the end of this year.

On Monday, UAE state news agency WAM said that the UAE will lift a ban on its citizens travelling to Lebanon from Tuesday.

In November 2017, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain and Kuwait warned their citizens against traveling to Lebanon amid a Lebanese-Saudi crisis sparked by Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri's controversial resignation announcement in Riyadh, but he rescinded soon later.

Also, the UAE and Saudi Arabia have both voiced frequent concern over the political situation in Lebanon, which is located next to war-torn Syria.

Saudi Arabia lifted the travel warning against Lebanon earlier this year given improved security in the country. Enditem
