ADDIS ABABA, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Ethiopia's major media outlets on Wednesday.

--Ethiopia's Deputy Prime Minister Demeke Mekonnen on Tuesday received and held talks with Sergio Pimenta, the International Finance Corporation's (IFC) Vice President for the Middle East and Africa.

During the meeting, Demeke briefed the IFC's Vice President on the homegrown economic reform agenda initiated by the Government of Ethiopia to create conducive business and investment environments. (Fana Broadcasting Corporate/FBC)

--The implementation of Ethiopia's homegrown economic reform agenda needs active collaboration of all stakeholders, Finance Minister Ahmed Shide has noted.

Briefing officials drawn from regional states and city administrations about the economic reform on Tuesday, the Finance Minister said the active participation of the private sector and stakeholders is essential for the implementation of the reform initiative. (Ethiopian News Agency/ENA)

--The Commercial Bank of Ethiopia (CBE) said it is ready to provide financial assistance to development projects in South Sudan.

The President of the Bank, Bacha Gina, and the Special Envoy and Ambassador of Ethiopia to South Sudan, Teferi Tadesse have held discussion with President Salva Kiir of South Sudan in Juba, whereby President Kiir said that the two countries should be linked with road transport infrastructure in order to create and cement trade ties between the two sides.
