BEIJING -- Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the second informal meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and pay a state visit to Nepal from Oct. 11 to 13.

This will be Xi's first overseas trip after the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, and Xi will be the first Chinese president to visit Nepal after an interval of 23 years. (China-India-Nepal)

BANGKOK, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Chiang Mai Zoo, where celebrity panda Chuang Chuang lived and died, announced Wednesday on its website that the autopsy had indicated that the giant panda died from heart failure last month.

"There were no wounds on Chuang Chuang's body and no foreign objects were found in his windpipe," the Chiang Mai Zoo said. "The cause of death was due to heart failure, which resulted in oxygen deprivation of internal organs." (Thailand-Chinese Panda-Heart Failure)

BERLIN -- Several shots were fired on Wednesday in the eastern German city of Halle and two people were killed, according to local police.

The attack took place in a street in Paulusviertel near a Synagogue when about 70 to 80 worshippers were inside.

The gunman had intended to enter the Synagogue but somehow failed, and then he started his rampage in a food shop nearby. Two people were shot dead and at least two others were injured, according to German news agency dpa. (Germany-Shooting-Toll)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he would participate in an ongoing impeachment inquiry led by House Democrats "if the rules are fair."
