PARIS -- French Defense Minister Florence Parly on Wednesday urged Turkey to stop its military operation against the Kurdish forces in northeastern Syria.
"The Turkish offensive in northeastern Syria is dangerous. Dangerous for the security of the Kurds. Dangerous because it benefits Daesh (IS, Islamic State group) against whom we have been fighting for 5 years," Parly tweeted. (France-Turkey-Syria)

WASHINGTON -- U.S. Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, who President Donald Trump accused of involvement in a corruption case in Ukraine, called for the president's impeachment Wednesday.

TALUQAN, Afghanistan -- More than 6,000 families have reportedly fled recent war and conflicts in Afghanistan's northern Takhar province, a local official said Thursday.
