NAIROBI, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- The following are news highlights in Kenya's major media outlets on Thursday.

-- Deputy President William Ruto's quest to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 is not certain after Jubilee Secretary General Raphael Tuju said the DP is not the party's automatic candidate.

Tuju, who has for two months received a barrage of criticism from Ruto allies over claims he was against the DP candidacy, yesterday reiterated that the country's second in command is not the automatic flag-bearer in 2022. (Daily Nation)

-- Gilgil MP Martha Wangari wants her estranged husband Peter Karanja to keep off their children.

In a case before Naivasha chief magistrate Joseph Karanja, Wangari also wants the court to compel Karanja to pay her 270,000 shillings monthly upkeep for the two children. (Standard).
