LONDON, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.28 percent, or 19.86 points, to close at 7,186.36 points.
Antofagasta, a copper mining company, soared 4.47 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Anglo American and Lloyds Banking Group increased by 3.98 percent and 3.89 percent, respectively.
Barratt Developments, one of the largest residential property development companies in the UK, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.71 percent.
