RABAT, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- South African racing driver Giniel de Villiers (Toyota) won on Wednesday the 2019 edition of the Rally of Morocco, the final round of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies.
De Villiers came first ahead of Spanish Carlos Sainz (Mini Cooper) and French Mathieu Serradori (Century Racing).
It was de Villiers' fourth victory in the rally, after Qatari driver Nasser Al Attiyah missed the fourth round due to cruel engine issues.
Nasser Al Attiyah began the event with a nine-point lead in the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, but cruel engine issues on the fourth day force him to withdraw.
In the motorcycle category, American Andrew Short (Husqvarna) won, Chilean Pablo Qintanilla came second and the third place went to Spaniard Joan Barreda. Enditem
