WASHINGTON -- China and the United States kicked off here on Thursday a new round of high-level consultations to address their differences on outstanding economic and trade issues.

WASHINGTON -- U.S. President Donald Trump on Thursday confirmed that a senior al-Qaida bomb maker had been killed in a military operation two years ago.

"Ibrahim al-Asiri, a senior al-Qa'ida (al-Qaida) bomb maker and terrorist coordinator, was killed two years ago in a United States counterterrorism operation in Yemen," Trump said in a White House statement. (US-Counterterrorism)

SAN FRANCISCO -- California utility Pacific Gas and Electric Co. (PG&E) on Thursday began to restore power supply to about 126,000 customers after weather conditions improved in some areas affected by a preemptive measure to prevention wildfires.

PG&E said Thursday it did not receive any reports of fires related to its power equipment in areas affected by the Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS), a preventive action it took on Wednesday in an unprecedented power outage sweeping across Northern and Central California.
