BERLIN, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- German flight attendants union UFO on Monday called for strikes against the country's largest airline Lufthansa.
UFO asked its members via a video message uploaded on YouTube not to show up for work on Oct. 20 between 6 and 11 a.m. at the airports of Frankfurt and Munich.
Last week, UFO demanded a pay raise of 1.8 percent to be applied retroactively since July 2019.
"Further strike announcements for other Lufthansa flight operations can follow at any time as of today", warned UFO vice chairman Daniel Flohr.
As a reaction to Flohr's statement, Lufthansa announced to document all strike activities, individually reduce the salaries of the participants in the strike action and to "examine any further consequences of participating in such a strike."
Lufthansa announced not to be interested in any further negotiations with UFO and stressed to "do everything to keep the regular flight schedule" and to transport all guests according to plan and will consider the flight attendants' call for strikes "illegal". Enditem
