TOKYO, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks climbed Wednesday morning as investor sentiment was buoyed after Wall Street rallied overnight on the back of solid corporate earnings.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average added 338.53 points, or 1.52 percent, from Tuesday to 22,545.74.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, gained 17.65 points, or 1.09 percent, at 1,637.85.
Glass and ceramics product, rubber product and bank-oriented issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
