Nepali president arrives for state visit to Myanmar

NAY PYI TAW, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- Nepali President Bidya Devi Bhandari arrived Nay Pyi Taw Wednesday to start a state visit to Myanmar, according to the Information Ministry.

At the invitation of her Myanmar counterpart U Win Myint, Bhandari is making the reciprocal trip to Nay Pyi Taw in exchange for the one to Kathmandu by U Win Myint in August 2018.

During her visit in the country, Bhandari is expected to have talks with U Win Myint on bilateral relations and cooperation as well as matters related to promotion of relations between members of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) with which both Myanmar and Nepal are members.

Established in 1997, BIMSTEC groups Bangladesh, India, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Nepal and Bhutan. Enditem
