ULAN BATOR, Oct.16 (Xinhua) -- An exhibition marking the long-standing friendship between China and Mongolia opened at the National Museum of Mongolia here on Wednesday.

The exhibition entitled "Friendship, Cooperation-Cultural Heritage" is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the diplomatic ties between China and Mongolia.

"It is my great pleasure to witness the friendship between China and Mongolia," Li Wei, cultural counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, said at the opening ceremony of the exhibition.

Li expressed the hope that the exhibits on display at the National Museum of Mongolia will help visitors better understand the history of the relations and cooperation between China and Mongolia over the past 70 years.

Wednesday marks 70 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries on Oct.16, 1949.

"More than 100 photos and items showing the history of friendship, cooperation and development of relations of China and Mongolia are on display at the month-long exhibition. The exhibition is based on photos and items that are stored in our museum," said Dagvadorj Sukhbaatar, director of the National Museum of Mongolia.

The exhibition was co-organized by the Chinese Embassy in Mongolia, the Chinese Cultural Center in Ulan Bator and the National Museum of Mongolia. Enditem
