French shares close flat

PARIS, Oct. 16 (Xinhua) -- French shares closed flat on Wednesday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.09 percent, or 5.15 points, to close at 5,696.90 points.
A total of 17 of the 40 selected large companies gained in the day.
French international food company Danone went down by 1.52 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. Fashion luxury goods manufacturer Hermes Intl lost 1.16 percent while Safran, the multinational aircraft engine, rocket engine, aerospace component and defense company, edged down 0.95 percent.
French multinational IT service and consulting company Atos advanced 3.89 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. French banking company Credit Agricole rose 1.97 percent and French car manufacturer Peugeot gained 1.15 percent. Enditem
