649 kg of ICE drugs seized from sea off southern Myanmar

YANGON, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar authorities seized 649 kg of methamphetamine (ICE) from sea in Myanmar's Ayeyarwady region, according to the Home Affairs Ministry on Thursday.

Bags filled with ICE were found floating on the sea in Pyapon township on Wednesday morning.

Investigation into the case was underway by the regional authorities.

On the same day, 7,684 stimulant tablets were seized from two houses and two suspects were charged while one suspect fled the scene in Kyunsu township, Tanintharyi region.

According to the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC), a joint police force confiscated 29.9 kg of opium from a motorcycle, along with one suspect in Kyaukse town, Mandalay region on Wednesday.

Also, 2,000 stimulant tablets were found from a house in Kalaw township of Shan state. Enditem
