LONDON, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.20 percent, or 14.37 points, to close at 7,182.32 points.
Legal & General Group, a British multinational financial services company, soared 2.73 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Prudential and Rentokil Initial increased by 2.64 percent and 2.44 percent, respectively.
Mondi, an international packaging and paper group, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 5.02 percent.
