NEW YORK, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- A 5.5-magnitude earthquake jolted 48 km SE of Vanimo, Papua New Guinea at 19:34 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 25.68 km, was initially determined to be at 2.9383 degrees south latitude and 141.6499 degrees east longitude. Enditem
