TOKYO, Oct. 18 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks advanced Friday morning as investor sentiment was buoyed by U.S. shares gaining overnight after solid U.S. corporate earnings, while a draft Brexit deal between Britain and the European Union added to an upbeat mood.
The 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 125.10 points, or 0.56 percent, from Thursday to 22,576.96.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 2.77 points, or 0.17 percent, at 1,626.93.
Pulp and paper, farm and fishery, and machinery-linked issues comprised those that gained the most by the morning break. Enditem
