SYDNEY -- Australian scientists have designed a system which uses microwaves to decompose plastic into an environmentally friendly by-product.

Head of Electrical Engineering at Australia's James Cook University, Prof. Mohan Jacob revealed on Thursday that by using microwaves, plastic waste can be converted into biochar, charcoal that can be used as a soil conditioner. (Australia-Plastic)

MUMBAI -- India's HCL Technologies has been selected by Volvo Cars for an end-to-end Information Technology services that includes scope of its new digital transformation program, a company statement by HCL said on late Thursday.

The two companies have been working together since 2016 and the new expansion in engagement will include large-scale transformation program containing organization-wide technology shifts that will help Volvo Cars to capitalize on new opportunities to improve internal business processes and customer experiences, the statement said.
