MOSCOW -- The death toll rose to 13 after a dam collapsed in the Kuraginsky district of Russia's Krasnoyarsk region, local media reported Saturday.

ISLAMABAD -- Pakistani security forces have thwarted a major terrorist bid in the southwest Balochistan province and killed two suicide bombers, a senior police official said.

Tariq Jawad, Loralai regional police officer, told Xinhua that two paramilitary troopers were injured and one terrorist was killed on the spot during an exchange of fire when assailants ambushed a security forces' vehicle in the Loralai district of the province on Friday. (Pakistan-Attack)

RIO DE JANEIRO -- The death toll rose to seven in the collapse of a residential building in the northeastern city of Fortaleza in Brazil, authorities confirmed on Friday.

JALALABAD, Afghanistan -- Ten militants of the Islamic State (IS) outfit were killed in Afghanistan's eastern Nangarhar province, provincial government said Saturday.

"A total of 10 Daesh or IS militants were killed during an ongoing cleanup operation in Achin district within the past 24 hours. The operation will continue before the surrounding areas of the district are cleared of enemies," said the government. (Afghanistan-Militant-Killed) Enditem
