ISLAMABAD -- A head-on collision between an ambulance and a trailer in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province left nine people dead on Monday morning, local media reported.

According to the reports, an ambulance carrying a patient and his family members hit a trailer at the Head Pakka area of Mianwali, a district in the country's eastern Punjab province. (Pakistan-Road Accident)

COLOMBO -- Seventy four people had died and over 55,000 had been infected by the dengue virus across Sri Lanka till the second week of October this year, the government information department quoted the Epidemiology Unit as saying on Monday.

Till Oct. 18, a total of 55,894 dengue cases were reported, with the highest number of cases reported in Colombo district which stood at 11,854, Gampaha, on the outskirts of Colombo, with 8,976, and Kalutara, also on the outskirts of Colombo, with 5,456. (Sri Lanka-Dengue-Death)

KABUL -- Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani separately met with visiting U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper in Kabul on Sunday, said Arg, the country's presidential palace on Monday.
