ISLAMABAD, Oct. 21 (Xinhua) -- The Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) on Monday seized narcotics worth 18.2 million U.S. dollars from Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, a hand-out by the PCG said.

The coast guards launched a search operation by acting on a tip-off regarding smuggling of drugs to some foreign countries from Pakistan. During the operation, fine quality hashish was seized from a truck, and two suspects who were transporting the narcotics were also arrested.

The seized hashish was about 2,600 kg in weight and was recovered from secret chambers of the vehicle, which was taken into custody by the coast guards, said the press release.

Further investigations into the case are underway, and the criminals are being investigated by officials to trace the facilitators of drug trafficking in the country. Enditem
